Baja 1000 off-road race will kick off Thursday morning from Ensenada


The typical Baja 1000 off-road race will kick off Thursday morning from Ensenada with about 300 teams anticipated to run a rugged 1,121.55-mile course down the peninsula to La Paz, the capital of Baja California Sur.

Now in its 45th year, the most up to date Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 is the final event of a five-race 2012 desert series organized by SCORE International. Rivals are expected to converge from 32 U.S. states and 18 nations.
